Uh Oh....

Was feeling in a rather rebellious frame of mind today so decided (perhaps unwisely!) to dye my hair darker to be nearly black (I get these strange urges now and again).
It doesn't look as good as I would have hoped as I didn't manage to get the dye through my hair very evenly (very difficult task with hair as long as mine - should really have anticipated this) so as a result it looks a bit patchy. Don't suppose it's that much of a tragedy though as it's only temporary dye so should wash out within a few weeks.
I think what's worrying me more is the wrath of my mum when she see's the state of the the bath! The dye made a bit of a mess and it won't seem to come off very well, despite lengthy scrubbing with Cif and then Cillet Bang! I have left it soaking with bleach now as a last resort
Uh Oh, I am so Dead when Mum gets home....

Animal Portraits

Thought I'd post a few of my favourite animal portraits from my portfolio. These ones were all done in watercolour pencil and they are all, unfortunately, at least a couple of years old as I haven't done anything decent at all recently - I seem to be going through a bit of an artistic block at the moment!
Should really attempt to find my muse again as I've been told I could probably make a bit of extra cash out of my animal portraits - if I could be arsed!

This is a portrait I did of a cat called Benson. This is a copy as I sold the original to the cat's owner Posted by Picasa

A German Short-Haired Pointer. Emma will recognise this one as it used to be on our kitchen wall in our flat at North Court Posted by Picasa

This is an English Pointer. As you can see from the date, I drew this one years ago! Posted by Picasa

Field Sketch

Judging by the picture I posted below, I really need to get a life. I've also just exposed my status as a bird geek - D'oh!

Have you seen this bird? It woke me up first thing this morning by loudly and repeatedly shouting the word 'Teacher' outside my bedroom window - Grrr! Posted by Picasa

Mission Log

For anyone who doesn't know, I did make it to Glasgow on Friday, despite the weather. I am back home now - alas - but it was a good weekend!

Anyway, reason for this post is I thought I'd record the text message converstion I had with Adam on friday while on my way to Glasgow as it is mildly amusing:

Jackie:
Mission Get To Glasgow: Progress report: Now at Inverness bus station. Mission seems to be going to plan so far despite challenging weather conditions

Adam:
Message to Special Agent Jackie: Message received and understood. Pickup site will be scouted for enemies and food supplies prior to your arrival. Expect you at 18.55. Report any updates as they occur. Good luck soldier

Jackie:
Mission update: Have just changed bus at Perth. Mission progressing well

Adam:
Roger that. Satellite recon shows clear weather between you and bus station objective. Your contact, Agent Adam, will meet you there

then message to Mum on arriving:
Jackie:
Mission Get To Glasgow accomplished. Met with Special Agent Adam at Rendevous point. Mission Get Food And Cider now underway

Okay...

getting fed up with this snow now, mainly because I'm supposed to be going down to Glasgow today and I'm worried I might not be able to make it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Phoned bus company earlier and they said that the buses are still running as normal so if I can make it to Inverness I should hopefully be ok. Once I get to Glasgow it can snow as much as it likes, I don't mind so much if I can't get home!!!
anyway, no doubt I'll be on here ranting later on if I can't get there....

Snow...Lots of!

Ok, so we finally get something that resembles winter and it is now March.... Hmm, Seems completely illogical to me

There is lots of snow here, it's been snowing for the most part of 2 days. The trees around my house look very pretty and I'm trying to get out for a walk to take some photos. Trying, I say. What actually happens is, I notice it's stopped snowing, spend ages lacing up my boots to go out, look out window, bloody blizzard has started up again - Grrrr! Anyway, if you get some snow pics on my Blog later, you'll know my efforts have finally been successful!

One annoying thing about the snow is it means my younger sister, Rebecca is off school, which means she's hanging about the house annoying me instead. I shall have to find a use for her....

Also hope this weather doesn't get any worse for Friday as supposed to be going down to Glasgow

*Update - as you can see from the pictures below, I did finally get out with my camera!
